Privacy Policy Policies and Practices Regarding
Privacy for Forrest Sherer, Inc.
Customer Privacy Policy
At First Financial Corporation (FFC), your privacy is important
to us. We only collect and use information we need to deliver the
high level of customer service you have come to expect, including
informing you about products, services, and other opportunities
that may be of benefit to you. This notice describes the information
we collect from you and how we use that information within the FFC
family of affiliated companies (First Financial Bank, Morris Plan
of Terre Haute, and Forrest Sherer). FFC's Privacy Policy applies
to individual consumers who purchase goods or receive services for
personal, family or household use. Further, the Policy covers our
information practices while you are a customer and shall continue
should the relationship end.
Information Collection Practices
We collect non-public personal information about you from the following
sources:
Information we receive from you on applications
or other forms, such as name, address, social security number,
telephone number, occupation, assets and income;
Information concerning your transactions
or account experiences with us, our affiliates, or others, such
as account balance, payment history, insurance coverage, account
activity and employment information.
Information we receive from others such as
a consumer-reporting agency or employer.
Sharing and Use of Your Information
We do not sell your non-public personal information to anyone nor
do we disclose any non-public personal information about you to
non-affiliated third parties, except as permitted by law. For example,
we may share non-public personal information about you to protect
against fraud, to service your account, or in response to a subpoena.
When we share information with non-affiliated third party service
providers, we require them to maintain similar standards of conduct
regarding the privacy of your information provided to them. Third
party service providers are not permitted to release, use for their
own purposes, or sell information we share with them to any other
party.
In order to serve your financial needs, and provide you with an
integrated solution to financial services, we may disclose all the
information we collect, as described above, within the FFC family
of companies as permitted by law. These companies are financial
services providers, such as banks and an insurance agency.
Federal law allows us to share with our affiliates any information
about our transactions or experiences with you. Further, unless
you instruct us otherwise, we may also share with our affiliates
other information that is not transactional or experience in nature.
We do so as part of our effort to provide you with opportunities
to obtain a wide variety of products and services from our affiliated
companies. For example, we may share credit information about you
from consumer reports that we receive from credit reporting agencies
or other information you provide on an application. Under the federal
Fair Credit Reporting Act, you have the right to prevent this sharing
of information about you with our affiliated companies. If you wish
to exercise this right, please call the following number: 232-0441
(local-Terre Haute) or 877-232-0441 (toll free) or indicate your
choice by checking the first box on the attached reply card and
mail it to us at the specified address. If you choose to prevent
the sharing of this information within the FFC family, we will not
share non-experience or non-transactional information about you
with our affiliates. If you hold joint accounts with other persons,
we will accept instructions from any owner and apply them to all
owners and your decision will remain in effect unless revoked by
you and any other owners in writing. Please keep in mind that if
you do not wish us to share this information, you may limit your
opportunities to receive product and service information that may
be of interest and value to you.
Keeping Your Information Accurate
FFC has established procedures to ensure that your financial information
is accurate, current, and complete, in keeping with reasonable commercial
standards. Should you ever believe that our records contain inaccurate
or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will investigate
your claim and correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
FFC adheres to the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act
when reporting information to credit reporting agencies (CRA). If
you believe that information we have reported to a CRA about you
is not accurate, please notify us or the CRA. We will investigate
the claim and correct inaccurate information in a timely manner.
Information Security
Keeping your information secure is a top priority at FFC. Information
security is addressed in our Code of Ethics, Records Retention and
Destruction Guide, this Policy, and in the contract terms and conditions
we have with non-affiliated third party service providers. We maintain
appropriate internal security principles and procedures to protect
against unauthorized access to customer information. Our operational
and data processing systems are in a secure environment and incorporate
industry standard protection.
We also limit access to customer records to employees with a legitimate
need to know such information to serve your financial needs. Access
is restricted by using physical controls and computer password authority
levels. Our employees are held to strict confidentiality standards
and are trained to understand and comply with these information
principles.
Home Banking and the Internet
We want your Internet banking experience to be a safe and enjoyable
one. Information from home banking transactions is encrypted or
entered using a secure server to protect against unauthorized capture
and use by other persons. We recommend that your user name and password
be unique and you should protect them from others the same as you
would your ATM personal identification number (PIN). We will not
send you an e-mail requesting personal and account information.
If you receive such an e-mail that claims to be from an FFC affiliated
company, please contact the security department at 812-238-6284.
Companies not affiliated with FFC that link to our website
are themselves responsible for collecting, using and securing information
that you may provide to them. We recommend you read the privacy
policies for such companies prior to submitting any information.
We do not knowingly collect or use information from our websites
about children under thirteen years of age.
Changes to This Policy
We may, from time to time, modify this Policy. If we make a material
change, we will notify you of that change as required by law.
