Policies and Practices Regarding Privacy for Forrest Sherer, Inc.

Customer Privacy Policy

At First Financial Corporation (“FFC”), your privacy is important to us.  We only collect and use information we need to deliver the high level of customer service you have come to expect, including informing you about products, services, and other opportunities that may be of benefit to you.  This notice describes the information we collect from you and how we use that information within the FFC family of companies: First Financial Bank, N.A., The Morris Plan Company of Terre Haute, Inc., and Forrest Sherer Insurance, Inc. (“FFC Affiliated Companies”).  This Policy applies to individual consumers and covers our information practices while you are a customer and shall continue should the relationship end.

We collect non-public personal information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others; and
  • Information we receive from others such as a consumer-reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.

We may disclose the following kinds of non-public personal information about you:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, and income;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others, such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage; and
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history. 

 

Categories of Affiliated and Non-Affiliated Parties to Whom We Disclose

 

We may disclose non-public personal information about you to:

  • FFC Affiliated Companies, which include financial institutions and an insurance agency;
  • Non-affiliated third parties that work for us including financial service providers, such as transaction processing companies and non-financial companies, such as marketing, check printing and data processing companies.
  • Other non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law.

 

Service Provider / Joint Marketing Agreements

We may disclose the following information to companies that perform services, including marketing, on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements:

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, assets, and income;
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others,  such as your account balance, payment history, parties to transactions, and credit card usage; and
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.

 

Explanation of Opt Out Rights

 

  • Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (“FCRA”), you have a right to opt out of sharing consumer report related information and other non transaction or experience information, other than disclosures permitted by law.  If you wish to opt out, you may call us at 812-238-6000 (local Terre Haute) or 800-511-0045 (toll free) or indicate your choices by checking the appropriate box on the attached Opt Out Form and mail it to us at the specified address.  If you hold joint accounts with other persons, we will accept instructions from any owner and apply them to all owners and your decision will remain in effect unless revoked by you in writing. 

 

  • You may also limit an FFC Affiliated Company from using your information, such as transaction, experience and consumer report related information it receives from another FFC Affiliated Company for marketing purposes.  If you choose to opt out, information may still be used as permitted by law, for example with your permission or if you have a business relationship with the FFC Affiliated Company performing the marketing.  If you wish to opt out, you may call us at 812-238-6000 (local Terre Haute) or 800-511-0045 (toll free) or indicate your choices by checking the appropriate box on the attached Opt Out Form and mail it to us at the specified address.  If you hold joint accounts with other persons, we will accept instructions from any owner and apply them to all owners and your decision will remain in effect unless revoked by you in writing. 

 

Confidentiality and Security

We restrict access to non-public personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you.  We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your non-public personal information. 

 

Protecting Your Own Information

FFC recommends you take the following precautions to guard against potential misuse of your personal information:

  • Promptly review your account statements and report any suspicious activity to us immediately;
  • Do not share your account information, passwords, user IDs, PINs, code words with others;
  • Do not provide confidential information by telephone to unknown callers;
  • Do not click on a “link” contained in an unsolicited email;
  • Do not respond to emails requesting account numbers, passwords, PINs, or other personal information;
  • When conducting business over the Internet, always use a secure browser.  You can confirm this by checking the Web site begins with “https.”  Exit online applications as soon as you finish using them and make sure you have virus protection and a firewall and update them regularly;
  • Shred documents containing sensitive information before discarding (e.g. bank statements);
  • Review your credit report at least annually.  You are entitled to receive one free credit report every 12 months from the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies.  To learn more or request a copy of your report, visit annualcreditreport.com or call 877-322-8228.
