Business Services: Loss Prevention

Our loss prevention/safety management programs protect people and property. They help reduce accidents and control costs. At Forrest Sherer Insurance, our loss prevention and safety management professionals develop a service plan designed to improve our clients’ risk. Our consultants are available on a fee-forservice basis, both to insurance clients and non-clients. They will evaluate your business’s safety philosophy and practices. They will identify weaknesses in safety programs and will offer guidance to eliminate those deficiencies.

Ergonomics
We offer assessment, training and program consultation to reduce or eliminate the risk factors contributing to work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

Fire
We work with clients to assess and implement fire prevention programs and engineering controls.

Fleet Safety Programs
We work with clients to manage fleet/auto risk. Our professional direction includes assistance in driver training, driver selection and written programs.

General Liability
We offer consultation services and inspections to improve or eliminate exposure to liability.

General Safety Training
We provide safety training to our clients’ employees for OSHA compliance and loss prevention. These programs include lock out-tag out, hazard communication, powered industrial truck (forklifts), confined space, hearing conservation, respirator, fall prevention, walking and working surfaces, bloodborne pathogens, and personal protective equipment. "Train-the-trainer" safety courses are also available.

Industrial Hygiene
We provide industrial hygiene services, from employee hazard assessment to personal monitoring. We have the capabilities to conduct both air and noise exposure measurements.

OSHA Instruction
Our staff are authorized OSHA outreach instructors for general industry and construction 10- and 30-hour courses.

Plant and Job Site Inspection
We provide plant and job site inspections to reduce or eliminate safety hazards.

Property
Our property services include a hazards survey, prevention planning, controls assessment (detection, suppression and compartmentation), and business continuity planning. We can provide insurance replacement cost appraisals on new and existing buildings, utilizing the Marshall & Swift Valuation Services to determine these cost values

Safety Programs
We work with clients to develop sound written safety programs to help comply with government regulations.

Staff Training
We provide instruction and guidance for management and supervisory staff to effectively maximize loss prevention/safety efforts.

Workers Compensation
We provide our clients with a loss prevention/safety program that will help reduce employee exposure and result in reduced workers compensation costs. We offer guidance in developing claims management programs including transitional return to work, establishing medical providers, accident investigation, injury reviews, early reporting and countermeasure development.
